1. Information we collect
When you use Abey Chal Na, we may collect information needed to provide the service, including your name, account information, commute preferences, selected locations and coordinates, route and timing information, vehicle details, connection information, and messages exchanged through the service.
2. Google sign-in
You can create an account and sign in with Google. Google shares your name, email address, and profile photo with us so we can authenticate you and show your name to people you connect with. We do not receive your Google password, and we do not post to Google on your behalf.
3. How we use information
We use this information to authenticate your account, save and calculate your commute, find compatible commute routes, facilitate connection requests and private chats, operate the service, prevent abuse, and maintain security and reliability.
4. Location information and mapping
Location information is used to calculate routes and matching. We send the locations you choose to Ola Maps so we can search places and compute road routes. Exact coordinates are not shown as exact coordinates to other users. Public route listings use approximate location labels. Location data is sensitive, so choose locations you are comfortable storing and using for the service.
5. Chat messages
After you accept a connection, you can send private messages to coordinate a recurring commute. Chat messages are stored so both people can see the conversation, and they are automatically deleted after 2 days.
6. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Information may be processed by service providers that help operate the application: Google for sign-in, Ola Maps for location search and routing, Supabase for authentication, database and chat delivery, and Vercel for hosting. Information is also shown to other users where necessary for the service, such as your public profile name and approximate commute areas, or shared privately through an accepted connection.
7. Security
We use authentication controls, database access controls, server-side authorization, rate limiting, encrypted transport, and other technical safeguards. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
8. Retention and deletion
We retain account, commute and connection information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security, resolve disputes, and meet applicable legal obligations. Chat messages are deleted after 2 days. If you want to request deletion or correction of your information, contact us at abeychalna.in@gmail.com.
9. Cookies and local storage
The application may use browser storage and cookies required for authentication, session handling, preferences, and application functionality. We do not use those mechanisms to sell personal information.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. The latest version will be published on this page with its updated date.
